Attracting patients to a growing dental practice
The initial strategy to attract new clients to the East side Gil Dental Clinic was to refer patients of Dr. Gil´s to the most outstanding dentists practicing in other specializations. This referral system was successful as many of the other specialists recognized the superior work coming from the Gil Clinics in the field of prosthodontics. These specialists soon felt confident to refer patients of theirs who required dental treatment by a specialist in prosthodontics to the Gil Clinics. This referral system became the mainstay for accepting new patients who much appreciated that their own dentist had confidence in the work of the dentist they were referring them to. Other methods used to receive a higher profile amongst Dr. Gil´s colleagues and dental professionals was that Dr. Gil gave classes in crowns and bridges or conferences at the University of Costa Rica for almost 10 years. Currently Dr. Gil presents conferences of this nature and on other topics upon invitation or time permitting.
And today many referrals to the practices come directly by word of mouth or recommendations by Gil Dental Clinic existing patients and occasionally from other specialists.
